After 40 years photography I lost all inspiration and motivation, to continue with modelphotography.
Not all kind people are kind, so I am definitely not kind anymore to them…

‘Peter has always been greatly involved in the creative arts, be it music, photography, painting or sculpturing.  His first band “Meeting” was formed back in 1974, after which followed various other bands including “Brain”.

His first exhibition of black and white drawings in 1979 lead to even more exhibitions in Switzerland, Sweden and even Ticino; at this stage Peters studio was based in Ticino and he looks back to this time with fond memories:

“Back when I had my studio in Ticino, it was a very wild and creative time from which sprang various contacts and new projects in my home country and abroad.”

It was only meant to be a short trip when Peter took off to Sweden in 1986 but he ended up staying for sixteen years. Now that’s a long vacation. But of course Peter remained productive. He spent his time working with troubled adolescents who faced difficulties with drugs abuse; he helped them find back their routine and normality by ways of working in agriculture and teaching them the know-how of gardening and landscape care.

It was during this time Peter found his love for wooden sculptures and his first exhibition of Wooden Sculptures in Landscape was soon to follow in 1991. One year prior to his first exhibition in sculptures, he met his wife Ursula with whom he has raised three happy and healthy children.

The family returned to Switzerland in 2002, where Peter continued his passion for the arts. Last year Peter set up his own recording studio and started jamming away and working on different songs.  The first time I listened to Peter’s music I was swept away into a state of complete and utter relaxation. These melodies, a mixture of classical music and “tender” techno, kidnapped me into a peaceful world full of harmony and unity; his paintings seem to have the very same effect on me.

“My style is versatile. I draw my influences from classical music, blues, rock and techno.  I still have spontaneous jamming sessions with old friends, which is always a good laugh.”

All though Peter has exhibited a lot of his work in the past, today he rarely enjoys art exhibitions.

“The art-business is not my world. In the old, wild times as a free artist, the actual art-world and what goes on behind the scenes nearly robbed me of my creativity. It was all too much business, too little art. ”

As for his influences as a painter, Peter draws his inspiration from the colored Landscapes, Portraits and Surrealism. 

“Salvador Dali, Gaugin, Matisse and Van Gogh are my favorites in Modern Art. When it comes to the Middle Ages, Gruenewalt is one of my favorite painters.”

Peter is planning one more big exhibition for the following year.  “An exhibition in Retrospect, if you will.” He is now in search of a place to realize it.

“Art is communication; I am trying to create a dialogue through my work with the viewer of my art. This dialogue is a spiritual language, which starts as a communication of our thinking (from negative to positive thoughts) and will hopefully make the world a little bit better. In my symbolic paintings I try to create a movement of thoughts. By looking at them, maybe you will be able to link to these thoughts or create your own new views. Beauty is the medicine to light up dark times. Just open your eyes, your ears and your mind. “

Peter’s art as well as his music is amazing, a must for all eyes and ears. He has welcomed us to take part in this spiritual dialogue and has offered us the medicine for these dark times. And I think I speak for all Music and Art lovers when I say, we should appreciate and respect his work and draw positive vibes from it in a period of time where it is most desperately needed to have something warming and positive to focus on.’
